Hinata is a member of the Hyuuga Clan, a ninja Clan with a specific set of abilities or bloodline limits that could potentially affect your character.
Byakugan
This ability is linked to Hinata's eyes. She activates it with a hand seal. It focuses chakra around her eyes and allows her to see through objects and solid bodies, in 360 degress, and as of no, with a range of ten kilometers.
This means several things. The first is that Hinata is quite perceptive of how others feel, not because of empathy, but because she can have a peek directly at their internal organs. Given that you can fake an outside reaction, but your organs cannot fkce theirs, she can literally see if someone's heartbeat is accelerating, or if they're starting to sweat more, or things like that.
The second is that it's practically impossible to sneak up on her in battle. There is, however, one instance of a Hyuuga - Neji - that was shown in Canon to have a very small blind spot at the base of his neck. It is, as of now, unconfirmed if Hinata has one or not, and if this is something that all Hyuugas have. If she has one, she is most likely aware of it and compensating for it in battle.
1)Would Hinata be able to deduce your character's emotional state if she used this ability? (Please note that Hinata is nice and thus unlikely to use it against your character)
2)Does your character have an ability that might prevent her from seeing things using her Byakugan? (Abilities that create mirror/replicate images have been shown to be able to confuse Byakugan users by making them see confusing things.)
IMPORTANT : Hinata's eyes are completely white! That means that unless your character has knowledge of her world, she would appear as if she were blind when she meets your character face to face, but her way of walkign and moving is at odds with this appearance.
Hyuuga-style Taijutsu
It is very, very unlikely that your character will face Hinata in combat, simply because Hinata does not particularly enjoy fighting as a sport. Being a ninja was a personal challenge for her, and her abilities are best employed in information seeking missions and recon.
However, her specific technique - which is that of her clan - is meant to disable and even kill an opponent in an extremely efficient way. Given Hinata's relative lack of physical strength and stamina, she is likely to use it if she feels she might be facing someone dangerous.
The technique rests on two things : the Byakugan, and chakra control.
With her Byakugan, Hinata visualizes the inside of an opponents body, including any system that they have that carries energy that would be akin to chakra.
Then, she concentrate chakra in the palms of her hands and discharges it, either in the energy tranporting systems or directly into the internal organs, slowly blocking the energy or bruising the body from inside. The effects can go from a person slowing down compared to their usual speed, to their powers being blocked, to their death by blunt force trauma to the internal organs.
