First Sunshine [Accidental Video Post]

[The feed switches on as the PCD is apparently dropped on the ground.

There's a girl lying on the rocky floor. Her hair is in disarray and she sports multiple bruises. There's blood on her face, that she apparently coughed up.

In the mess, a Konoha headband is visible around her neck. A strange, black, spear-like object has been used to stab her in the side and is still in the wound.

The girl's lips move, slowly, but her voice is too weak for the PCD to catch it, until ...]

[As his eyes look past the blood to her injuries, his anxiety increases, and Hinata's voice sounds around a broken cough- an attempt at speech, and he realizes that she must be swallowing her own blood.

Neji reaches for her, trying not to aggravate her wound as he lifts her into a half-sitting position against him, holding her and ignoring the blood falling onto his clothing as much as the warm, thick liquid disturbs him now.]

...Hinata-sama, you don't need to say anything. Try to relax for now and breathe. Tsunade-sama will be here soon.

[Hinata's body is heavy, hers muscle sunable to move, but every once in a while a deep shudder shakes her. She would moan in pain if she still had the strength.

But she seems determined to say something, and the new position, while not exactly more comfortable per se, allows her not to choke on her own blood.]

[And he wonders why she keeps asking for Naruto. Naruto wasn't going to save her, he hadn't re-arrived, but it was likely that she didn't even know where she was.

One look at her determined expression had his stomach turning unpleasantly. She looked just as she did then... Neji closes his eyes and shakes his head, fighting back the bile rising in the back of his throat]

He's not here, Hinata-sama. Just focus on remaining conscious.

[Though he speaks calmly, his hands are already stained with blood, and as she coughs it up, he knows she's losing too much.]

[Not here ... She's too lightheaded by now to react, and tries to focus her breathing, leaning all of her weight on Neji.

She knows, too, that she's losing a lot of blood, too much blood, but ... she did it. She told him, and she stood strong and protected him, putting her life on the line for it.

She is battered, covered in blood, feeling as if every bone in her body is broken, but still ... a smile slowly spreads on her face, a slow and serene smile. If she dies here, she will die knowing that she did everything she could for the man sh loves.]

[His heart drops, that smile far too distant and bittersweet now. He reminds himself that this is Adstringendum, that she'll live even if she dies here, but there's just something so wrong about the helplessness plaguing him as he imagines her slipping away.

His grip on her tightens as though to physically draw her back, but he can only hope Sakura or Tsunade arrive in time to save her.]

[When she was in range of the coordinates given, Tsunade swiftly shoved her PCD into her pack and picked up speed, following the fluctuation of chakra signatures to the pair. There's simply too much blood, she thinks, but doesn't waste time with words. She kneels at Hinata's side, gentle fingertips probing her side. The metal is too deep to pull out without knowing its position, but healing around it isn't an option either. It's not the kind of healing she'd prefer to perform on the field, but at least she has the benefit of Hyuuga eyes to save time.]

Neji. Is it safe to remove?

[His throat sticks momentarily, but he nods, Byakugan fixed on the injury.]

It looks as though a number of internal organs were damaged- although some seem more linked to blunt force trauma than this injury in particular.

[Her lips tighten into a thin line, but she nods. Green chakra coalesces around her left hand, streaming into the wound as she slowly removes the metal with her right. When it's safely removed, both of Tsunade's hands hover over the girl's side. Knitting the wound together, at least superficially, is the easy part- the loss of blood and bruising to internal organs will be the difficult part.]

Once we get her stable, we'll move her over to Unohana's clinic.

[He nods again, holding Hinata steadily and watching Tsunade, eyes still active in the case she needed any direction or information. Tsunade's words implied Hinata would stabilize, and it was enough to allow him to breathe easier, the panicked cloud dissipating. But she had still lost a significant amount of blood.]

Will she require a blood transfusion, Hokage-sama?

[Tsunade glanced up, eyes fixing on Neji's face for a moment, then her attention turned back to Hinata. Her breathing was a bit easier now, but weaker than Tsunade would have liked, and she intensified the flow of chakra.]

Undoubtedly. I think there should be the equipment we need at the clinic, though. Right now, we need to get her to the point where she can be moved.

[Damn lack of medical files-] Do you remember her bloodtype?

[Neji blinked, trying to remember]

Type A, I believe, though I don't recall polarity.

[Damn, that makes it harder-] I'd prefer to start a transfusion directly, but she should be able to hold on until we can check.

[She paused and glanced up, something tugging at her memory.] Kakashi's here. He should be O-. I've had to pump enough blood into him over the past few years to remember, damn Jounin can't seem to keep himself out of the hospital.

[The steady glow around her hands continues throughout the conversation, directed toward the worst of the internal damage.]

[A pause, minute shake of his head] I wish I could be certain of hers.

We'll find out when we get her there.

[The green glow finally dissipates, and Tsunade stands.]

She should be safe to move, but we'll want to go slowly. A stretcher would be ideal, but it's more important to get her there and get the transfusion started. The sooner we do, the better chance she'll have.

She's not strong enough to hold on. [Or conscious enough.] The majority of the damage is to her abdomen. Carry her bridal-style and be careful to not jostle her more than necessary.

Sakura said she'd be coming; hopefully she'll meet us at the clinic.

[Confirmation, he carefully moves Hinata into position and braces his arms underneath her, lifting her with a deliberate care and heading toward the clinic as soon as his hold is secure.]
